Attending Class Questions

Q: How do I know which class is right for me?

A: Family Resource Center’s Intake Coordinator will help you get into the right program. Give us a call at (541) 389-5468.

Q: When are classes offered?

A: Programs are available throughout the year based on community need. Look below for a list of all our classes offered periodically throughout the year. Click here for our most current class offerings!

Once you've decided the best fit for you and your family, please reserve your spot. Or give us a call (541) 389-5468!

Q: Which languages are classes available in?

A: Classes are typically available in English and Spanish.

Q: How do I register for a class or event?

A: There are 2 ways to register. You can fill out this form, or you can give us a call at (541) 389-5468. If you call outside of business hours (8AM – 4:30PM), we will give you a call back as soon as possible, or the next business day. Just note, when you register online, your registration is not complete until you have received confirmation form staff. This helps us make sure you are in the right program and have the information you need to join.

Q: What if I can't afford a class today?

A: Most classes are free or low cost to parents. Just let us know if the cost of class will prevent you from taking it and we will do our best to support you.

Q: Can I retake a class?

A: Yes! Parents often retake classes because there is so much to learn. We also see parents retake classes when there is a wide age range between siblings. Retaking a class can be a refresher course and provide you with renewed support.

Q: How do I go about recommending a class to a friend or peer?

A: What has the parenting class given you? Tell your friends and peers about your parenting journey and the positive role that a class has played. Your experience is the best example!

Q: If I'm being referred to take a class, how many can I miss?

A: That will depend on your referral agency and the class. We will do our best to work with you - we understand that people get sick and schedules change. If you foresee obstacles to consistently attending class, let us know when you register so we can make sure you are placed in the best program for your schedule.

Q: Do you provide childcare?

A: Yes! Well, normally, currently most of our classes are virtual. Those that are in-person typically provide free childcare. Our childcare providers are experienced, trauma informed, and ready to help!

Q: Do you help provide things like diapers and clothing?

A: If you are in need please call and inquire. If you are enrolled in our home visitation or coaching program, we may have a source to help. When we do receive general donations they are generally given to families attending our programs.

Q: Do you provide help with rent?

A: We do not typically receive funding to provide this type of assistance. We refer to other community organizations. If you are enrolled in our home visitation or coaching programs, we may have a source to help.
