It's not only scary for your child to have a medical procedure but it's often times more nerve racking for the parents.
We talked with a mom who just went through this herself, "I found it very helpful to ask others who had been through it to calm my nerves. And when it was time to tell my son what to expect, I was confident what in what to say. He went in knowing it was ok to feel his feelings about it but that ultimately he was going to be just fine. He fed off of my energy so remembering to stay calm and keep it light really helped him get through it. He went back with the surgeon with confidence."
